Hecho acontecido el viernes, aproximadamente a las 21:00 horas, en una emotiva ceremonia celebrada en la Plaza Los Colonos, ubicada en el cruce de Bernardo O’Higgins y Simón Bolívar, en El Noviciado, el vehículo fue oficialmente puesto en servicio como Z – 9. El evento contó con la presencia del vicepresidente y comandantes del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Quinta Normal, así como de dirigentes y vecinos que contribuyeron a hacer posible la llegada de este equipo a Pudahuel rural.
El vehículo, un Ford Cargo 1517 fabricado en el año 2004, fue adquirido en 2023 por la Novena Compañía del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Quinta Normal, el cual fue sometido a un proceso integral de pintura, restauración y modificación. En cuanto a sus características, destaca por su descarga frontal de alta velocidad, carga trasera, y cuenta con una motobomba de alta presión, así como una piscina tipo pera con capacidad de 20,000 litros.
