Pudahuel se prepara para ser la sede principal de los Juegos Panamericanos 2023 en las disciplinas de Tiro Deportivo y Para Deportivo. Desde su establecimiento en 1989, este polígono militar ubicado en el sector rural de la comuna se ha transformado en un destacado centro de entrenamiento para el Team Chile, atrayendo a diario a cientos de apasionados por el tiro.
El polígono cuenta con instalaciones vanguardistas, incluyendo tres zonas techadas completamente equipadas para el tiro al blanco. Equipos tecnológicos monitorizan la precisión de los disparos, brindando a los atletas nacionales un entorno de entrenamiento de alta calidad para modalidades como pistola y rifle con aire comprimido.
En el sector trasero del recinto, se ubican tres canchas para el tiro al vuelo o skeet, donde deportistas y aficionados buscan perfeccionar sus habilidades con la escopeta, priorizando la precisión, concentración y observación del plato.
Los eventos de Tiro Deportivo y Para Deportivo se llevarán a cabo del 21 al 27 de octubre y del 18 al 22 de noviembre, respectivamente. Pudahuel será el epicentro de la competencia, abarcando categorías masculina y femenina, con la destacada inclusión de Para atletas que compiten conjuntamente gracias a un sistema de clasificación deportiva.
En los Juegos Parapanamericanos Santiago 2023, las clases SH1 y SH2 estarán representadas, diferenciándose por la capacidad de los deportistas para sostener el arma con o sin soporte. Este formato inclusivo ha sido parte integral de los Juegos Parapanamericanos desde su inclusión oficial en 1976.
